How to Search Google for your
"family surnames"

with the most popular Internet Search Engine

Suggestions for finding your family name:
(1) Type your surname and it will locate all the web pages that have been indexed with your surname on it.
Example: Foster
(2)  Type your surname with "quotes" around two words so that the result will bring back a more filtered selection of web pages to look at.
Example: "Foster genealogy" or "Richard Foster"
(3)  Some Search Engines do well by placing a + sign between words.
Example: Foster + genealogy
(4)  Try several two word searches to see what you can find on your family.  Type your surname and then a second word using either the "quotes" or + sign.
Example: Foster + family; Foster + history; Foster + genealogy; Foster + GEDCOM; Foster + journal; Foster + obituary or Foster + Virginia.
(5)  Google is able to simply find what you want by just typing it as you normally would do.  Example: Foster genealogy (try this method first)
